The Yaeyamaensis variety of frogspawn differs from the standard variations in that their tentacles are much more bubbly in appearance. They are a lot more rare to find for the home aquarium.
Lighting: Frogspawn corals prefer moderate lighting conditions. Too much light can cause bleaching, while too little light can lead to the coral withering. Aim for a PAR level around 100-150, and gradually acclimate the coral to higher light levels if necessary.
Water Flow: Moderate water flow is ideal for frogspawn corals. It helps deliver nutrients and keeps their tentacles swaying gently, but excessive flow can damage their delicate polyps.
Placement: Frogspawn corals can be placed on the sandbed or attached to the rockwork using glue or epoxy. It's important to give them enough space as they can extend sweeper tentacles that can sting nearby corals. They can be placed near other Euphyllia species like hammers and other frogspwan.
