How to Care for Bubble Coral
Bubble corals are striking and rewarding additions to any reef tank. Here’s what you need to know:
-
Lighting: Moderate to low light is best to prevent bleaching.
-
Water Flow: Low to moderate flow; strong currents can damage their delicate bubbles.
-
Placement: Place them on stable rock or substrate with enough space to expand without touching other corals.
-
Water Quality: Maintain stable parameters — temperature 72–78°F, salinity 1.023–1.025, low nitrates and phosphates.
-
Feeding: They can catch small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or brine shrimp during the night, but mostly rely on photosynthesis.
-
Handling: Be gentle; their bubbles are fragile and can deflate if stressed but will usually recover.
With proper care, bubble corals can thrive and add unique texture to your reef aquarium.
