Rose Gold Hammer

Hammer corals prefer moderate lighting, typically between 100-150 PAR. 

Gradually acclimate them to new lighting conditions to avoid stress. 

While they can tolerate higher light levels, they may display better coloration under moderate light. 

 

Water Flow:

Moderate to strong water flow is recommended for hammer corals. 

The flow should be sufficient to keep the coral clean and sway its polyps gently, but not so strong that it causes the polyps to retract. 

Placement:

Ensure they have enough space to grow and extend their sweeper tentacles, which can sting neighboring corals. 

Avoid placing them too close to corals that could sting them, and give them at least 6 inches of space. 

Feeding:

While hammer corals are primarily photosynthetic, they can benefit from supplemental feeding. 

Target feeding with foods like phytoplankton, coral pellets, or amino acids can be beneficial. 

Ensure that nitrates and phosphates are kept in check, as they can negatively impact coral health.
