Collection: Chalice

Chalice corals (Echinophyllia spp.) are vibrant, eye-catching LPS corals known for their vivid colors and unique growth patterns. They make a stunning addition to reef aquariums but require specific care to thrive.

Lighting: Moderate to low light is ideal. Too much light can bleach their tissue, so place them in shaded or lower areas of the tank and acclimate them slowly.

Flow: Provide moderate, indirect water flow. Too much direct current can damage their delicate tissue.

Placement: Chalices grow outward and can have stinging tentacles, so leave space around them to prevent coral warfare.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 76–80°F (24–27°C)

  • Salinity: 1.024–1.026

  • Alkalinity: 8–12 dKH

  • Calcium: 400–450 ppm

  • Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
Stable, clean water is key to their health.

Feeding: While chalice corals rely on photosynthesis, they benefit from occasional feeding with coral foods or small meaty offerings like mysis shrimp.

With proper care, chalice corals reward hobbyists with vibrant colors and dynamic growth.
